When a preposition is used incorrectly, it can completely alter the connotation or meaning of the sentences. For example, 'Please don't scream at us: calm down and talk properly' implies anger, whereas 'He shouted at us from the upstairs window' implies that someone is trying to be heard. Some of the major forms of prepositions are;

2. Preposition of Direction

These prepositions indicate the movements or directions of something. Few of the typical direction prepositions include to, from, up, down, into, over, under, and through.

3. Preposition of Time

A preposition of time is a type which enables you to describe a certain time, like a specific day or the exact time something occurs or so on. Prepositions of time and place prepositions of place are similar terms/words, though these can be employed in various ways. Some typical instances of this type of preposition include at, in, and on.
